Dennijo was born in Fort Knox, KY.
At five, his Dad was in the Army and his Mom spent much of her
time teaching him how to harmonize, preparing him for his music
career.
At nine, his Dad bought him his first guitar and taught him the
chords and basic fundamentals of music and in no time he was
playing along with his father and mother in festivals and
churches. From then on he toured with his parents playing venues
such as Dollywood, Silver Dollar City, Six Flags over St. Louis and
Texas.
At eleven, a house fire destroys every thing that the Sitze family
owns. A local church gave the family a trailer to live in while the
new house is being built. Inside the trailer is an old upright piano
and Dennijo learns chords and music theory to play piano. The
same year Dennijo wrote his first song.
At 12, Dennijo’s grandfather, the dobro player in the family
band, takes him and his older brother, Chad for mandolin and
banjo lessons.
At 17, he was awarded a scholarship to South Plains College in
Levelland Texas, made regular appearances on the TV show
“country juke box”, played harmonica and sang in a blues band
touring all over the Texas Pan Handle.
Dennijo’s Quote: “Don’t bother putting together a show unless
every second of it is extreme, keeping every audience member on
the edge of there seat”
Influence: Newgrass Revival, Elvis Presley, B.B. King, Eric Clapton
